UnitedHealthcare Global Care Card for globally mobile employees
UnitedHealthcare Global has an ongoing mission to help people live healthier lives and help make the health system work better for everyone. With a recent innovation, we’ve developed a new way to do both. The Global Care Card helps employees around the world by addressing the common need to pay for medical costs at point of care outside of the U.S.—as quickly and easily as possible.
The UnitedHealthcare Global Care Card offers a flexible way for global workers to pay for out-of-pocket care, nearly anywhere in the world.1 Employees will love it because not only will their benefits cover qualified medical expenses and services, but they also will not have to wait for reimbursement. For companies, it’s an easy way to minimize management of expenses since UnitedHealthcare Global funds the Care Card and helps ensure employees are getting their care needs met.
Many times, an employee on assignment outside of the U.S. would either need to pay out-of-pocket and file a reimbursement claim (with corresponding lag time), or else need to arrange a UnitedHealthcare Global Guarantee of Payment before receiving care, which can be particularly inconvenient if a medical need is urgent.
Each member and covered qualifying dependent receives their own Care Card, ensuring that every transaction is seamless and ensuring care without delay. Above all, it is another way that coverage from UnitedHealthcare Global simplifies access to medical care, ensuring that people can maintain their best health, no matter where their job takes them.
